How We Rate Hand Wraps

Protection and Support

First, we rate boxing hand wraps based on their protection and support.

For knuckle support, we look for hand wraps that offer flexibility and elasticity to fit your hand’s shape.

Most hand wraps today offer Velcro closure for wrist support. We judge hand wraps on how well the Velcro holds when attached and after repeated use.

Comfort and Breathability

Next, we rate boxing hand wraps based on their comfort and breathability.

Since you’ll be spending lots of time training with your hand wraps on, they shouldn’t be rough against your skin. We promote comfortable hand wraps that stretch and mold around your hand’s shape easily without cutting off circulation.

Your hand wraps’ material also shouldn’t be so thick that it’s uncomfortable to fit your hands in your boxing gloves.

We recommend hand wraps that will keep your hands cool and dry, preventing bacteria buildup.

Durability

Lastly, we rate boxing hand wraps based on their durability.

We look for hand wraps made with high quality materials such as cotton, polyester, or a synthetic fiber blend.

Your hand wraps should be elastic and flexible without losing its shape or bunching up after repeated use and washes.

We also look for hand wraps with reinforced stitching in high-impact areas.
