If you need a stylish, light headgear with superior protection and near-perfect visibility, the Hayabusa T3 Adjustable Headgear is for you.
At first, we felt that this headgear was tight on us, but as we used it more, it molded to our heads and became comfortable with its soft inner lining.
We were also worried at first by how light this headgear was. After use, we were impressed that this offered maximum protection without too much bulk, as we’ve noticed other headgears do.
We loved the secure fit of this headgear; when we got tagged with a hard hook, the headgear stayed in place and didn’t shift.
After taking many jabs and crosses to the cheeks and jaw, we always came out of the ring free of cuts and bruises.
We were able to see all punches coming our way, with only our far peripheral vision blocked.
We especially loved the style of this headgear; slick and simple.
Our only criticism is that it may be expensive for beginner boxers. Considering that this protects the most valuable part of your body, it’s worth the fee.
In all, we’d recommend this headgear to beginners who are willing to pay a premium for quality, and experienced boxers alike.
Pros and Cons
PROS | CONS |

✅Comfortable inner lining ✅Light, but sturdy ✅Near-perfect visibility | ❌Expensive for new boxers |
Protection
We were impressed with the Hayabusa T3 Adjustable Headgear’s ability to protect with minimal weight and material.
On first wear, we were concerned about how light this headgear was, thinking that it wouldn’t protect us. However, we had nothing to worry about.
Hayabusa did a great job of providing maximum protection with minimal weight, which is something that many headgears fail to do.
After taking some heavy shots during sparring, we never got any cuts or eye damage while wearing it. We also noted that the headgear’s T-Cross closure never budged after taking hits.
Even though our forehead, cheeks, and eyes were properly covered, we always had near perfect vision in all directions.
In all, we felt adequately protected with this headgear.
Visibility
If you’re looking for near-perfect visibility, the Hayabusa T3 Adjustable Headgear allows you to see all punches coming clearly.
As mentioned before, while our forehead, cheeks, and eyes were properly covered, we always had near-perfect vision in all directions.
We only had trouble using our far peripheral vision, but this is to be expected with most headgears available.
Since the headgear’s T-cross closure never budged after taking shots, we never had to worry about it rotating and blocking our vision.
For the purpose of protection, we felt that Hayabusa found the perfect ratio between padding and visibility with this headgear.
Comfort
We were impressed with how comfortable the Hayabusa T3 Adjustable Headgear was.
One big factor that separates this headgear from the others is how light it is. While many headgears add bulk to provide protection, Hayabusa decided to remove it.
As a result, this headgear felt like an extension of our faces, especially after breaking it in.
Even after we started sweating heavily during sparring, the combination of the open top, mesh ear coverings, and inner lining worked together to vent heat and keep us cool.
An added bonus to this is that we never needed to adjust our headgear in the middle of sparring.
Our only complaint is that the headgear was tight on us at first, but this is to be expected with most headgears. As we used it more, it molded to our heads and became comfortable with its soft inner lining.
After breaking the headgear in, we could move our heads with full range of motion without it feeling too tight.
Price
Because the Hayabusa T3 Adjustable Headgear offers premium quality and protection, boxers will have to spend extra compared to other headgear on the market.
Our biggest criticism for this headgear is that it may be expensive for newer boxers.
If your focus is on learning the basics and hitting the bag, then you won’t need this headgear right away.
However, once you start sparring and doing mitt work, you’ll want to maximize your protection and longevity with this headgear.
Once you buy it once, you won’t have to worry about replacing it for many years (or ever!).
Even today, we’re confident that this headgear should last you through many sparring sessions.

Is It Safe To Box With Headgear?
Boxing with headgear will reduce the impact of your opponent’s hits significantly.
For light sparring, using headgear is optional, but for heavy sparring, using a good-fitting headgear is essential.
Why Do Men Not Wear Headgear In Boxing?
With headgear, there will always be a tradeoff between protection and visibility.
Some boxers say that the padding around the eyes reduces their vision and increases the risk of blows to the head.
Does Headgear Prevent Concussions?
According to PubMed, use of headgear doesn’t prevent concussions over a longer time period.
If you’re only sparring once a week, you’ll have less risk of concussion. On the other hand, if you’re sparring every day, all those accumulated shots and damage add up.
