While these gloves are praised by professionals and beginners alike, we had concerns at first that they weren’t worth the hype.

After testing them, we became big fans of the gloves’ balance between comfort, protection, and style.

At first, we were worried that the synthetic Vylar leather outside of the gloves would feel cheap like some of the other cheaper gloves on the market, but this wasn’t the case.

We were impressed with how the outside of these gloves looked and felt.

Inside the gloves was a comfortable lining that offered breathability during workouts. We never felt the material bunch up or let our hands get swampy.

When we used these against heavy bags and aqua bags, the multilayer foam padding provided enough protection for our knuckles, but also gave us enough feedback to feel our power shots.

What we loved most about these gloves was their durability and wrist protection. Even after months of testing these gloves, we could rely on their splint design and interlocking wrist straps as if they were brand new.

One downside that we didn’t expect concerned the microfiber thumb that allowed us to wipe sweat from our face while training.

We appreciated that little perk, but we found that it took a long time to dry completely. When we put on the gloves the day after an intense training session, the thumbs were still a little damp.

Another downside was the cost for a non-leather glove.

For beginners, these gloves have a high cost of entry, but it’s worth it. If you see yourself sticking with boxing for a long time, these are a great investment.

Pros and Cons

PROSCONS
✅Premium quality
✅Interlocking wrist straps
✅Multiple sizes and styles
❌Costly for beginners
❌Microfiber thumb dries slowly

Quality of Material

Usually gloves with synthetic material turn out to be poor quality, but we were glad to see this wasn’t the case with this pair.

The synthetic Vylar leather looked and felt as sleek as a real-leather glove.

Regarding the 5-layer foam padding, we found that these gloves gave the perfect balance between knuckle protection and feedback on our punches.

We especially appreciated the comfortable lining of the gloves that kept our hands from getting swampy.

One of our biggest criticisms for these gloves was that the microfiber thumb didn’t dry as fast as the rest of the glove.

It’s only a minor inconvenience, but it was noticeably uncomfortable each time we put on our gloves for a new workout.

Although these gloves’ material aren’t as good as that of competition gloves like Winning or Cleto Reyes, their quality exceeded our expectations for general-purpose gloves.

In all, we were impressed with how these gloves performed day after day.

Durability

After months of regularly using these gloves, we found that we could still rely on the foam padding to perform as they did on the first day.

Other gloves become lumpy and uneven at the knuckles after countless hours of use, but this wasn’t the case with the Hayabusa T3 gloves.

While some of our other lower-quality gloves began to crease at the wrist after heavy wear, we were glad to see that these gloves kept their shape after months of use.

The fact that we’re still using these gloves today for our workouts is a solid testament to their durability.

Protection

What we loved most about this pair of gloves was the combination of the interlocking wrist straps with the multilayer foam padding.

With other gloves that use Velcro straps, we found that the Velcro loses its effectiveness over time and can rip off easily after a hard power shot.

With the Hayabusa T3 gloves, we were glad to see that this never happened with the interlocking wrist straps.

When used with a well-fitting pair of hand wraps, the gloves ensured that our knuckles never got bruised or injured after many hours of bag work or mitt training.

The only way that Hayabusa could top this pair’s wrist protection is if they decided to make a lace-up version.

Price

Even though these gloves are highly recommended, we can see how the price can be too high for beginner boxers.

If you’re just getting the basics down or taking a few boxing classes, perhaps it’s better to get a lower-tier pair of gloves.

However, once you get tired of the poor-quality padding and the bent wrists of those gloves (read: bruised knuckles and sprained wrists), you should upgrade to these.

Once you gain more experience, these gloves give great value.

We’ve used them for all kinds of training and they’re still as reliable as the first day we used them.

We’ll buy these gloves again once our pair runs out of uses, if the padding ever wears down or if the wrist straps begins to loosen.

Frequently Asked Questions

How Should My Boxing Gloves Fit?

Your gloves should fit comfortably around your hand; too much space will increase the risk of hand injuries.

They also shouldn’t be too tight; too little space will cut off your circulation and reduce your ability to move.

A good rule of thumb is that your gloves should feel like a natural extension of your hands.

How Do I Wash My Boxing Gloves?

After use, you should:

  • First, wipe down the outside of your gloves with a disinfectant wipe.
  • Next, you can throw them in the washer.
  • Lastly, let them air dry with the straps left open.

Doing these simple steps will make your boxing gloves last longer.

Do Boxing Gloves Make You Punch Harder?

Boxing gloves don’t make you punch harder. The padding in the knuckles absorb shock to protect you and your sparring partner.
