If you’re looking for a simple, stylish pair of boxing shoes with reliable ankle support for an affordable price, the Title Speed Flex Encore Boxing Shoes are perfect for you.

With these shoes, we were impressed with their ankle support and simple, lightweight design.

We found that the shoes’ synthetic leather and nylon fill body was breathable and comfortable.

Their soles kept us well-connected to the ground, but mostly because there’s little of it compared to other shoes.

Personally, we’d like these shoes more if they provided more padding and support on the soles.

This didn’t affect their performance in the ring, but sometimes the shoes’ padding felt similar to wearing slippers.

Because of this, these shoes may be uncomfortable to some, especially if you have flat feet.

Since these shoes have such a minimal design, we found that they were extremely lightweight, even for a mid-top design.

While other boxing shoes play around with hybrid overlay materials and ankle straps, the Title Speed Flex Encores keep it simple.

These shoes don’t have dedicated ankle support, and instead rely on their long laces for security.

Without lacing them up, we’ve found that our ankles can roll around easily, which shows that the synthetic leather body of the shoes don’t contribute heavily to ankle stability.

After taking the time to lace them up and around the shoes, these shoes did a great job of keeping our ankles tight.

If you’re coming from regular training or athletic shoes, lacing them up and down each time will be a hassle.

Since these shoes don’t offer half sizes, we recommend going with the smaller size. If you choose a bigger size, you can always compensate by wearing thicker athletic socks.

In all, we’d say that these shoes are best for beginner to intermediate boxers who want a no-frills, plug-and-play pair of boxing shoes.

Pros and Cons

PROSCONS
✅Reliable ankle support
✅Minimal, stylish design
✅Great value
❌Stitching and sole wear easily
❌Long time to lace up
❌Thin, non-ergonomic soles

Material Quality

Over time, we found issues with the quality of these shoes’ soles and body.

The soles perform well in the ring, but we think the padding is lacking.

It let us feel connected to the canvas, but sometimes it felt like we were wearing slippers instead of shoes.

The minimal combination of the synthetic leather and nylon fill body felt like a part of our feet, giving us solid performance in the ring.

Our biggest criticism was regarding the shoes’ stitching and sole.

After a few months of use, the stitching on our shoes’ body began to fray and come apart, and the sole began to come apart from our shoes.

Though we may have just been unlucky, it’s something to keep in mind.

We’d love these shoes more if they had more substantial padding as well as longer-lasting quality.

Weight

Though the Title Speed Flex Encores are mid-top shoes, they provide an optimal experience for boxers who want to stay light in the ring.

Even with these shoes’ synthetic material, their minimal design and construction make them extremely lightweight.

While other shoes offer fancy overlays or dedicated ankle straps, these shoes keep it simple.

Because of this, we always moved easily in the ring with these shoes on.

Ankle Support and Stability

The mid-top design of the Title Speed Flex Encore Boxing Shoes combined with the long-lacing kept our feet protected and secure.

The long-laces are key to these shoes’ ankle support.

Personally, we’re lazy when it comes to boxing equipment, since we have so much gear to prepare, especially when we spar.

Though we found that when we didn’t lace these shoes up fully, our ankles could roll around. The synthetic leather body doesn’t really contribute to the shoes’ ankle stability.

When we took the time to lace them up and around the ankle, these shoes offered great support.

If you’re coming from regular training or athletic shoes, this will be a hassle.

Price

Because the Title Speed Flex Encore Boxing Shoes are competitively priced, both beginner and intermediate boxers can enjoy their quality.

If you’re a beginner, these are a great first pair of boxing shoes.

You’ll immediately see the difference in performance compared to your beat-up pair of tennis shoes.

On the other hand, if you’re a more experienced boxer, these shoes also get the job done.

However, with its price, it makes tradeoffs in the quality department.

These shoes gave us great value for the first few months, but because of their quality issues, we don’t expect them to last us for years.

For its price point, these shoes offer great weight performance and ankle stability.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I Wear Boxing Shoes Outside?

We don’t recommend wearing your boxing shoes outside of the gym.

The tread of the soles are designed specifically for the ring, and not for rough surfaces like pavement. Using your shoes on outside surfaces will make your soles wear down faster than usual.

Do I Need Boxing Shoes?

If you want to improve and dial in your footwork in the ring, boxing shoes make a big difference. They allow you to stay light on your feet and rooted to the canvas at the same time.

Are High-Top or Low-Top Boxing Shoes Better?

While this is a question of personal preference, keep in mind that you’re making a trade-off between ankle protection and weight.

High-top shoes will provide more ankle protection with more weight, while low-top shoes will offer less ankle protection with less weight.
